Emerging Breadth and Scale of Liverpool Boat Show As Power, Sail, Inland Waterways and Small Craft S
Thu 27th May 10 - 12:30
FOUR more major marine businesses have confirmed their attendance at the Liverpool Boat Show – demonstrating the emerging scale and versatility of a show which is set to become a significant player in the European boating industry.
But the scale and ambition is more than that of a traditional boat show. Beyond the super-brands, exhibits and hospitality tents there is a third dimension not available to any other show - the wow factor. It is hard to describe it because it is not just the Tall Ships, feature boats, colossal Aqua Theatre, The Liverpool Boat Show Regatta, Comedy Festival and marine Literary Festival, it is Liverpool itself.
With virtually a year to go still, industry reaction has been tremendous across all sectors. Among those confirming their presence this week is Palm Equipment International Limited, leading manufacturers of canoes and paddle sport accessories with over 1000 items in their product line selling all over the world. Along with Perception Kayaks and Canoe England, Palm will bring the famous Canoe Village to the Liverpool Boat Show.
Bob Slee, director at Palm said “we have found a wonderful location at the heart of the show to locate the Canoe Village complete with its own slipway to allow access to the water. We aim to provide the complete experience for visitors with provision to get 500 people on the water during each day of the show. I have a great feeling about this show and am really looking for to it”.
Powerboat dealer Gibbs Marine also confirmed their presence at the Liverpool Boat Show with a display of six boats from the Regal and Linetti ranges. Gibbs has one of the longest and most established relationships with Regal, lasting more than 24 years, and is their largest international dealer.
Steven Chambers, Sales Manager at Gibbs Marine Sales, said: “We were incredibly impressed with the facilities around the Albert Dock, Liverpool. A boat show in this stunning World Heritage Site setting, coupled with the vast and wealthy visitor catchment, made our decision to attend very easy.”
From the inland waterways community, Kevin O’Connor, Managing Director at Gateway Marine Ltd, said: "We look forward to showcasing our narrow boats at the prestigious Liverpool Boat Show. It will give us the chance to show off what we can create. Being our home city it will be a great honor and we look forward to what is shaping up to be an excellent event for the boating community. As well as bringing along our own boats, we will be inviting some of our customers to come along over the course of the event giving show visitors the chance to chat first hand and to swap ideas.”
Adding to the growing number of offshore sailing boats to go on display, Ken Burns at Passport Yachts Europe said: “We are pleased and excited by the prospect of taking part in the inaugural Liverpool Boat Show next year. The show provides an unprecedented high profile opportunity to expand our marketing efforts into the fast growing sailing regions of the north west of the UK.”
“This week is no exception” said Rob Mackenzie managing director of the Liverpool Boat Show. The commercial strength of the Liverpool proposition has captured the imagination of the industry and the showcase we will put on next year will be substantial and widely representational across all sectors of the industry. With plenty of lead-time before the show we are in a great place.”
